Why Should I Create Vendor Logins?

Creating vendor logins for your vendors is a great way to give them access to view and track their splits and payouts, their products and inventory, and to export their data to a CSV file for their own reporting purposes.

In this article, we will look at how to create and manage vendor logins and at how to embed a VendorPayout login page into your Shopify store.

Create & Manage Vendor Logins

Add a New Login

  1. Launch the VendorPayout app.
  2. Select Vendors.
    The vendors link is highlighted.
  3. Click the Create new vendor login button.
    The create new vendor login button is highlighted on the vendors page.
  4. Enter the email address of the vendor. This is the email address the vendor will use to log in.

  5. Enter a password for the vendor.
    The vendor will use this password to log in for the first time. However, they can update their password once they have logged in.

  6. Check the box for the vendor you are creating the login for in the Vendors list.
    You can select more than one vendor if needed. If the vendor is not in the list, click the click here to add a new vendor link to add the vendor.

  7. Specify the information the vendor can view when logged into VendorPayout by checking the appropriate boxes in the View Permissions section.

  8. (Optional) Limit the vendor's view to only show sales after a specific date by selecting the starting date from the Limit Date View field.

  9. Click the Create new user button to save the new login.

Send Login Information to Your Vendors

VendorPayout does not automatically send/email the new login information to your vendor. Please communicate with your vendors outside of VendorPayout to ensure that they have the login information.

Manage Vendor Logins

The email address used to log in is displayed in the Vendor Login Accounts column of the Vendors screen for any vendors that have a login created for them.

Click the Edit link to edit the vendor's login information.

Click the Delete link to permanently remove the vendor's login.

Embed a VendorPayout Login Page into Your Shopify Store

Add a VendorPayout login page to your Shopify store so that it matches your branding and so that your vendors never have to leave your website to log in. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin.

  2. Go to Online Store.

  3. Select Pages.

  4. Click the Add Page button.

  5. Enter a name for your page into the Title field. Then, click the Show HTML button.

  6. Copy the code found below and paste it into the HTML editor in Shopify.

  7. Click the Save button to save your page.

Your Shopify Theme

Once added, the page will contain an Email and Password field along with a Login button. Be sure to check the page and update it as needed to make the formatting and layout match your theme and branding.
